Are you ready, kids?
Aye, Captain!
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?
SpongeBob SquarePants!
His body is quite flexible,
SpongeBob SquarePants!
…
As SpongeBob turns 38, we received a special gift.
And just like that, the familiar tune began playing in our minds: “Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SpongeBob SquarePants!”
SpongeBob SquarePants is primarily targeted at children, but its audience actually spans across all age groups. Even Barack Obama once said that SpongeBob was his favorite TV character.
But as adults, why do we still love this "childish" cartoon? Why do we still feel nostalgic for that "silly" SpongeBob?
The answer is: Utopia.
Yes. This seemingly childish underwater world is, in fact, a utopia in the minds of many adults.
We miss and love SpongeBob, perhaps more because we long for the innocence of childhood. We miss those slowly turning fans, we miss the quirky friends in the underwater world who helped us pass time during absurd moments.
Do you know what SpongeBob says? Life isn’t a big deal at all. It’s like a game. “Let’s go jellyfishing! We don’t have to do anything; life is like a big bowl of jellybeans—full of all kinds of dreams.” —Patrick Star
Since we feel such nostalgia, well… are you ready, kids? AREAX Brick District has brought SpongeBob’s Pineapple House out of the screen and into the real world! Come meet our old friend!

Now, let’s switch over to SpongeBob’s Room Tour channel! Immerse yourself in the charm of the Pineapple House!
Pineapple House Ready for Move-In...
Overall, the exterior design of the Pineapple House can be described as “incredibly faithful to the original.”
The original mold shell, paired with blocky textures, replicates the unique feel of the pineapple’s exterior. (P.S. If you’d like a clearer scene display effect, you can choose to replace it with a transparent shell [AB0069]).
The green leaves on top are made of layered green parts, giving a rich and natural look. Hidden inside is a tiny home for Gary the Snail—did this little Easter egg surprise you? The chimney design is a perfect match for the one in the animation, truly bringing us back to "Bikini Bottom."
The door and window details are also well done: the round window and classic door frame at the front maintain the animation's design language. It’s worth mentioning that all the doors, windows, and some of the furniture pieces are movable, making the set highly playable.
The base design cleverly simulates an underwater beach scene, with seaweed, shells, jellyfish, and other marine elements interwoven throughout.
At the center, there is a mechanical turntable, allowing you to rotate the mini stone house and display the entire Pineapple House in a 360° view. Now, let’s follow the glowing road signs and head inside the Pineapple House to explore!
Four-Fold Design!
Start: Living Room
Upon entering the front door, the first thing you’ll see is SpongeBob’s favorite area—the living room. This part corresponds to part bag #5.
The room perfectly replicates the iconic sofa and TV, with a small gray-green table beside them, adorned with a potted plant. The large specimen on the wall is also intricately detailed, capturing the essence of the underwater world.
Even more interesting are the clever little mechanisms hidden beneath the sofa and the TV. These can rotate flexibly, adding a lot of fun and interactivity to the scene.
Left Side, 1st Floor: Gym
As you move to the right side of the room, you enter the carefully designed gym area, which corresponds to part bag #3.
Here, you’ll find everything from punching bags to dumbbells and rings—all small but meticulously crafted. Though we’re not sure if the locker holds cake or a fat-burning meal?
Left Side, 2nd Floor: Bathroom and Study
The second floor is divided into the study and bathroom areas, corresponding to part bag #4. The bathroom is cleverly designed, with a hidden mechanism in the bathtub that can eject the minifigure—plenty of fun to be had!
The study is even more interactive: not only can the books on the shelf be easily removed, but you can also flip through their pages. This interactive design makes the entire room feel more alive, as if you’re really stepping into SpongeBob’s underwater world.
Right Side, 1st Floor: Dining Room
As you continue to walk right, you’ll come to the dining room and bedroom areas. The dining room perfectly replicates the classic scene from the "Krusty Krab" restaurant, corresponding to part bag #1.
On the ordering counter, there’s an irresistible burger, and at the entrance, there’s a sticker of Gary the Snail, adding a touch of familiar warmth. Even more interesting, inside the ordering counter, there’s a hidden bottle of drink. Did you notice that?
Right Side, 2nd Floor: Bedroom
The bedroom corresponds to part bag #2. Looking at the details, you can really feel the "Brick District style"—not just functionality on display, but also thoughtful details.
The design of the treasure chest hiding money and gems is truly a pleasant surprise—delicate with a touch of humor. The photo of SpongeBob and Patrick adds a warm atmosphere to the entire scene.
And then there’s the quiet Gary the Snail, lying lazily on the bed, and the scattered little accessories on the floor—like the bucket and soap—adding charm to the whole picture.
Honestly, seeing so many clever designs in a brick-built scene, Brick District really put a lot of thought into this one!
End: Kitchen
The kitchen is located next to the garage door, corresponding to part bag #5.
In the oven, steaming chicken legs give off a tantalizing aroma, and on the countertop, there are burgers and drinks, as if ready for a meal at any moment.
On the wall, the box neatly holds various kitchenware, with every detail making the scene feel incredibly realistic.
The most eye-catching feature, of course, is Mr. Krabs' figure! Is he planning to secretly steal the delicious burger recipe? It seems like a “Great Burger Heist” is about to unfold!
Minifigures
The six minifigures are all built with bricks, from SpongeBob to Patrick, Squidward, and more. Each character’s expression and posture are vivid, perfectly satisfying both the building and character reproduction aspects.
Lighting Set
Additionally, the Pineapple House comes equipped with an exquisite rechargeable lighting set, adding even more magic to the entire set.
Unlike button cell batteries, Brick District has designed a USB charging interface this time, which is much more convenient.
The lighting system is also very cleverly designed with “no visible wiring throughout the house.” The wires are integrated into the bricks themselves, while the soft lighting adds depth and life to the underwater world, making the entire Pineapple House feel instantly alive and warm.
Building Experience
The Pineapple House adopts a modular design, allowing for layer-by-layer assembly, making it easier for players to explore the internal details as they build.
Advantages | Disadvantages |
---|---|
High Collectibility: The overall design is exquisite, with rich details that perfectly reproduce the iconic scenes of the Pineapple House. With official licensing, it’s a great choice for SpongeBob fans and high-fidelity model enthusiasts. | Long Build Time: The entire set contains 2345 pieces, which can be complex, especially for beginners. It’s recommended to build it in stages to avoid exhaustion. |
Excellent Part Quality: The parts from Brick District fit together well, with a moderate tightness that prevents parts from being too tight or falling off during assembly. | Fragile Top Green Leaves: While the top green leaves are beautifully designed, they require careful handling during assembly. After completion, it's best to avoid moving the model to prevent the leaves from loosening. |
Smooth Building Experience: The instructions are clear, with detailed steps, offering a fun challenge without being overly difficult. | Vulnerable Leaves: The leaves on top, though detailed, are somewhat delicate during the build. Once assembled, it's best to avoid frequent movement to prevent the leaves from loosening. |
High Playability: Details such as doors, windows, furniture, and boxes are movable, adding interactivity and fun, while also offering plenty of hidden surprises to explore. |
Buy or Not Buy?
A foolish optimist, a child-like character, always seeing the bright side of things.
When you encounter absurd moments in life, maybe it’s time to channel SpongeBob. Gather your friends, start building with bricks, and fill the empty spaces of time with these colorful creations, always looking at the bright side of life.
Bold Prediction
Last year, AREAX Brick District released the Krusty Krab restaurant set, and this year, they’ve launched the Pineapple House set. So, let’s make a bold prediction—could the "Squidward's House" set be coming next year? Imagine that somewhat indifferent yet artistically charged space, perhaps with his antique piano, the artwork on the walls, and that always unique living room...
"Hello, this is the home of an undiscovered genius."—Squidward
By the way, here's some good news! With the New Year approaching, AREAX Brick District has launched a Fortune-Bringing Money Pot with the same IP! For fans looking to add some festive atmosphere to their homes, this is definitely a lucky find!
Combining traditional Chinese culture with SpongeBob’s design, it’s perfect as a home decor piece or as a thoughtful New Year gift!
This set mainly includes a stand, a custom "Fortune Tray," instruction manual, identity card, and 5 limited-edition minifigures. The figures are dressed in traditional Chinese clothing, which not only adds to the festive atmosphere but also increases its collectible value!
The Fortune Tray is filled with ingots, symbolizing wealth flowing in and representing the gathering of fortune and good luck for the coming year.
The Fortune Tray can be removed separately (does this count as two display pieces?), and the lion dance elements on both sides of the tray are eye-catching. The auspicious clouds and the character “福” (meaning “fortune”) blend seamlessly with the underwater elements like jellyfish and seashells, creating a harmonious yet striking design. Are you feeling tempted by this set?
